ASHRAE Congratulates Salt Lake City

ASHRAE congratulated the Salt Lake City Council, which passed a building benchmarking ordinance August 29, 2017. This ordinance will create transparency about the energy performance of the city’s commercial buildings and will help owners identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency, which could save millions of dollars in operating costs.  Numerous other cities, counties, and states have enacted similar policies, reducing pollution, saving money, and providing useful information for building owners and tenants.
